A peaceful space and supportive thoughts. 


It's an entire year since the devastating bushfires in Victoria, Australia - when so many families lost their lives and hundreds watched as their precious lifestyles and property were dessimated by roaring red flames.

From now on I’ll have piping hot showers courtesy of the bright Australian sunshine, and I’ll rarely need to pay a cent for it. While the world's leaders were ducking and weaving about climate change solutions in New York this week, Australia saw a real live demonstration of what our future could be if we don't act with speed on this front.

This small boat harbour restaurant has tables set out on a wharf at Tweed Heads near my home in Australia.
 










Dress code is the ultimate in casual. Fingers are definitely de rigeur. Food is served in polystyrene boxes to keep in the heat, and the taste is scrumptious!

And given that the length of this  sprawling coastline is 34,218 km, it’s a big job. This area had been declared as never to be built upon. It teemed with native plants and animals and was a valuable breeding ground for birds. The developers dug deep and used the soil to build up the surrounding land by two metres.
